Offering Reiki to little girl at orphanage

10% of all profits from my online Reiki courses goes toward attuning children at an orphanage in Cambodia to Reiki.

Offering Reiki to girl at orphanage

At the New Hope for Cambodian Children orphanage.

Have you ever noticed how good it feels to help someone else? To get out of your own head, even if only for a moment, stop focusing on all your perceived worries and problems, and truly be there for another human being?

That’s one of my favorite feelings, so I knew I wanted to give back a percentage of the money I make teaching Reiki – this amazing practice that’s given ME so much – in some way.

So, I thought, Why don’t I give 10% of everything I make to one of the many amazing non-profits out there? But, deep down, I knew the most valuable thing I can offer by far is my love and my time.

It is when you give of yourself that you truly give. – Khalil Gibran

We’ve all been gifted this short time here on Earth, this “precious human life” as the Dalai Lama calls it, and I knew there had to be a better way to pay that gift forward.

A couple years ago I did massage at the New Hope for Cambodian Children Orphanage in Phnom Penh, Cambodia for kids that have HIV/AIDS. Those kids are the most amazing, kind, magnificent people I ever did meet. They may not have their parents, they may not have their health, but they have so much love and truly embody the strength and resiliency of the human spirit.

Okay, I thought, Then I can go back to the orphanage and offer Reiki to the kids.

But anyone who’s ever taken my Reiki classes knows that I’m all about self-healing and self-love and self-empowerment. I bet I say, “Well, you know all healing is self-healing” at least three times in every class!

So the kids would receive the benefits of the Reiki while I was there, but as soon as I left, even if I sent them long-distance Reiki, they would still be dependent on someone else outside of themselves to channel spiritual energy their way.

Then I knew exactly what to do: Put 10% of everything I make toward going back to the orphanage to attune the kids to Reiki and to teach them how to send Reiki to themselves and each other. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime, right? Besides, every kid I’ve ever taught Reiki to has always been a natural. They just seem to “get it”, whereas us adults are often the ones who have a harder time.

Dancing machines

Dancing with a girl at the orphanage who’s deaf. Even though she can’t hear, she can still feel the beat. Funny how energy and vibrations just work that way, isn’t it?

So, yes, 10% of the profits from any of my online Reiki training courses you buy goes toward this trip to attune the 220+ children who live at the orphanage (and want an attunement) to Reiki.

I can’t think of anyone who deserves to learn how to heal themselves more than they do.

Some of my amazing friends who work in the healing arts plan to join me – an art therapist, a dance teacher, a meditation + yoga teacher, a sound healer… as well as a couple of Reiki students that want to come too.
