Heal those “previous” lives the real you is living simultaneously!
In Reiki II, you learn the Long Distance Healing Reiki Symbol, which allows you to send healing Reiki healing energy across space and time. (Reiki travels at the speed of light.)
With this powerful Usui Reiki Symbol, you can send Reiki back to your past, forward into your future, across the globe or even further into the Universe, the possibilities are endless!

Essentially, this symbol opens us up to the realization and wisdom that “the time is always now” and that “time as we know it is merely a concept of the mind.”
The past doesn’t exist, and neither does the future. Only our personal perception of what happened or might happen is real. Take the history we learn from history classes in school. Although it is considered truth, it’s really just one person’s or one group’s version of what happened. One of my favorite books about American history is A People’s History of the United States: 1492 to Present, which offers a very different version of what happened in this country. I highly recommend it!
For another example, let’s say I have a misunderstanding with a friend. She may perceive that I was rude to her, whereas I see the situation as her being inconsiderate to me. Who’s right, and who’s to say what really happened?
Which makes the Distance Healing Reiki Symbol that much more powerful. We literally have the ability to change the past, thereby altering our present, not to mention our future.
Although, to make it even more mind-boggling, more and more we are learning that everything is happening simultaneously. (What!?) I have a tough time wrapping my head around this, but deep down my inner knowing tells me this concept is true. So, even though I might use the term ‘past life’, apparently all my lives are happening at the same time, all for the evolution and growth of my soul. (Just some light-hearted, easy to understand conversational topics, right? : D)
Using the Long Distance Healing Reiki Symbol on Your History
You can use the Reiki Distance Healing Symbol in so many ways: to heal past lives, your inner child, family karma, previous relationships, the list goes on and on. I send Reiki to the little girl on the far left (me) pretty often.
If you want to work on your past, but are unsure where to begin, you can always ask that you be shown which area of your past would benefit most and allow you to vibrate on a higher level in the here and now. When the image of your past pops into your head, you know where to begin.
You can send Reiki “back in time” with the Distance Healing Reiki Symbol to:
- Your mother when she was pregnant with you
- The time of your birth
- Your ancestors
I have made it a practice that whenever I remember a lower-vibrational or painful event in my past, no matter how trivial it may seem now, I send Reiki to myself at that time using the Distance Healing Symbol.
Let’s say some kid made fun of me for being tall in middle school, and something comes up throughout the day that reminds me of that. Along with other symbols, I send the Long Distance Reiki Symbol. I’ve really found that when I do, those previous issues simply don’t haunt me in the same way.
If the issue is longstanding or a very deeply-held pain, of course it usually doesn’t go away entirely in one fell swoop, (I wish!) but I do feel more of a sense of peace when thinking about it after the session. The issue won’t hold quite the same charge as before.
Using the Reiki Distance Healing Symbol to send Reiki ahead of time into your “future”
You can also send Reiki into the future to your future self, to a ‘spiritual bank account’ that you can call upon in times of need, or to any event that could use a little ‘love energy’, like an important interview or special date.
You can send Reiki to:
- The year ahead of you
- Into the future for your projects and goals
- Your ‘future lives’
- Yourself when you are eighty years old, with the intention that you will look back on your life with the satisfaction and joy of a life well-lived.
I want to be as happy as this woman looks when I’m older! Sending Reiki to create that right now (with the Long Distance Healing Reiki Symbol, the Manifestation Symbol and the Sweet Nectar of Life Symbol.)
You can also send Reiki long-distance to God, Buddha, the Angels, the other life forms we share this multi-verse with, loved ones who have moved on to other dimensions and realities, or the Earth. Many Reiki practitioners find that when they do this, they receive healing back from those beings a thousand fold.

I recently heard from an old boyfriend , he’s Reiki 2 , he tells me , Years ago when we went out he kept finishing with me to go out with an old girlfriend , although he says .. not in the biblical sense , still hurtful though , he even wrote a letter saying I’m going to make a go of it with …. So its goodby , I went back up north from London becouse id had enough , then after a month he came to see me , he went back down south , I didn’t join him like I should have , still wondering if he would go back to his old girlfriend , now years later I’ve heard from him again but he says I broke his heart , he is still in pain and he didn’t really go out with someone else cos it wasn’t in the biblical sense , didn’t even remember that he wrote me a goodby letter / note and says we were together otherwise he would not have come up north to see me , he wants me to believe his version . He says he’s sending me distance Reiki healing , sorry but I wondered if this is ok , I’m sometimes feeling shaky and not so right .

MOST energy-based healing modalities require permission from the recipient before sending the energy to them. If your old boyfriend is sending you distance Reiki sessions and you’re “feeling shaky and not so right”, it sounds like HE is the one who needs Reiki sessions. Using energy-based modalities in an attempt to “control” someone else into doing what YOU want THEM to do sounds more like witchcraft. It’s simply NOT ethical.

i have a negative energy attachment. can i get healing
Hi Stephen,
I’m sorry to hear that. Honestly, the best thing you can do for yourself, in my opinion, is to remove the attachment and separate from it yourself. If someone quote unquote “heals” it for you, if it happens again, you will need that person to “heal” you once again. But if you clear your aura and energy field yourself, you will see how easy it is and won’t need anyone else!
A couple things you can do – 1) Picture the attachment or energetic cord, and then visualize pulling it out of yourself and then out from the other side, and sending the cord to the Earth or Spirit or violet flame to be transmuted. Then, mentally heal where the cord came out of you, see yourself “patching it up”, and surround yourself with a white or gold bubble of protective energy. Then, say something like, “I only work with the light, and that’s it.” If anything negative tries to connect with you again, the answer is, “No, I’m sorry, I only work with the light.” The less attention/ focus/ energy we put in that direction, the better, because the more of ourselves we can focus on what we do want.

Please help me know how to initiate Reiki symbols. Do we have to each time draw all the three Reiki symbols for every main points of body and simultaneously close for each points??

Great question. We have a lot of freedom in how we use the Reiki symbols. We don’t have to use them at all in a Reiki session actually, the symbols really just amplify that particular energy the symbol represents.
You can draw all the symbols right before the session in your hands or you can use a particular symbol when you’re at a certain part of the body and feel like the person could use that symbol there. You can draw the symbols in the air, with your tongue on the roof of your mouth to hit all your meridians in your body, or you can draw the symbols in your hands or physically on the person. It’s really up to you!
So, to answer your question, no, you don’t have to draw every Reiki symbol each time you move your hands to a different Reiki position : )
