The shining light of Reiki

Because even with the countless benefits of taking an in-person or online Reiki class, you should know that there are some things that won’t be solved solely by taking the course and receiving the attunement.

Now, we are not saying not to take a Reiki class. Quite the contrary! The whole world should be attuned to Reiki. However, we have seen a phenomenon recently with healing modalities such as Reiki where people love the feeling of feeling good, but deny and suppress any bad feelings as being “not of the light”.

Reiki classes will shine light on your shadow

This can become dangerous, as literally everyone has negative feelings and beliefs that could stand to be healed. And it makes sense why we do this, too, because who in their right minds wants to feel bad?

However, covering up negative beliefs and ignoring them with healing modalities like Reiki will never heal those wounds. In order to truly heal, we must uncover them and deal with them so they can truly get better.

Taking a Reiki class and receiving an attunement will give you the opportunity to look at your issues. The intelligent Reiki energy will stir up those emotions. However, it is still up to you to look at them and see them for what they truly are. Emotions caused by beliefs about yourself and the world around you that you formed when you were a child.

Since our rational mind doesn’t really form until we reach the age of 7, a lot of the beliefs you hold were created before you had the ability to reason. Therefore, you assumed that everything that happened was your fault, or that the world was a certain way because of your experiences.

The Reiki light sets the stage for your performance of healing yourself

Therefore, you should never blame yourself for holding these beliefs. You are doing the best you can. We all are.

At the same time, however, you are being given a gift when your issues move from your subconscious mind to your conscious mind. Deal with them, and your life will be so much better for it. You’ll see.

So, remember, while Reiki training classes are life-changing and life-affirming and all that jazz, there is one thing they cannot do: heal you of their own accord. Reiki classes and training programs can assist you in the process, but only you can heal yourself. So why not do it?

In addition to quantifying and founding Reiki – for which we will forever be grateful – Dr. Mikao Usui also put together five main principles to live by. These five Reiki principles, if we were to truly live them in their entirety each and every day, would give us such heaven on Earth.

Practicing them in our lifetimes allows us to embody the healing Reiki energy and ‘BE Reiki’, just for today. (Hey, we’ll take it!)

Reiki Principle #1 Just for today, I will not worry

Since we here at Reiki Training Classes are fascinated with our subconscious minds and how they can’t hear words like ‘no’ and ‘not’, we like to teach our students in our Reiki courses to slightly modify this principle to:

Just for today, I will trust.

Doesn’t that feel good just saying it? We understand that Mikao Usui didn’t have the resources available that we do – um, like the Internet? – so we love his principle too. We actually teach both, so use whichever one feels best to you.

Isn’t that a beautiful idea though? Since worry always boils down to fear of the future, fear of something that hasn’t happened yet, what if you trusted? Just for today, what if you trusted that everything that is happening in your life is for your greatest good? If you trusted in Spirit, Source, God, yourself, whatever you want to, and knew, just knew, that everything is going to work out just fine? (Because it will. And it is.)

 Reiki Principle #2 – Just for today, I will not be angry

In keeping with our use of language that our subconscious mind gets and understands, let’s modify this one, shall we?

Just for today, I let go and feel peace.

Yes. Yes. Yes.

Anger and resentment all stem from wishing we could change the past. While we can’t unfortunately, we can adjust our present and change the future.

When we let go of wishing the past could be any different, we open ourselves up to the beauty of the present moment and the peace always available to us.

So what if today, just for today, you had no past? Your past was a clean slate, just like your future? How liberating.

Try saying, “I forgive everyone for everything, most of all myself.”

Reiki Principle # 3: Just for today, I will be grateful

When we are thankful for what is currently in our lives, we attract more good. Like attracts like. And feeling grateful changes our energy from one of lack to having. For example, if you feel like you don’t have this and you don’t have that, you are sending a message of lack into the Universe. And by the Law of Attraction, that feeling of lack will attract more lack. 

Likewise, if you send a message of gratitude and having into the Universe, you will attract more to ‘having’ and more to be grateful for. Your thoughts are powerful. Use them wisely.

You change your energy to attract what you want into your life with gratitude. Is that not a good enough reason to practice this Reiki principle?

Reiki Principle #4 – Just for today, I will do my work honestly

When you do your work honestly, this brings purpose and meaning into your life. Unfortunately, we are not just talking about being honest with others. The most important person you have to be honest with is yourself. You can only lie to yourself for so long before it eats away at you.

Someone doing their work. And a Reiki symbol in the process.

So, maybe ask yourself some tough questions, that though they may be difficult now, will have an immense payoff in the enjoyment of your life. Are you doing what you want to do? If not, why not?

If you feel like you don’t know what you want to be doing, that’s okay, too. It’s all part of your path. But maybe start to think about what you like to do, which activities do you forget about what time it is and where time flies. Maybe try to incorporate more of those into your life. Because ‘work’ doesn’t just refer to money. When you are doing something that fulfills your passion, where you feel so completely and truly alive, you don’t think you’re doing your ‘work’ honestly? We do.

 Reiki Principle #5 – Just for today, I will be kind to every living thing

This kind of speaks for itself, doesn’t it? What you give out, you receive back tenfold. Besides, it just feels good to send love to everyone you encounter in your day.

We have done ‘experiments’ where we gave everyone who crossed our path that day the symbol for unconditional love right on their heart chakra. How good do you think we felt on that day? Pretty amazing. Yep, this Reiki is good stuff all right.

So, just for today, try embodying these principles. Or perhaps focus on one at a time. ‘Just for today, I will trust, or ‘Just for today, I will be grateful’. Something tells us you will be pretty happy with the results.

We’re sure you already know what the obstacle is. Since if you already have a successful Reiki healing practice, you’ve overcome this, and if you are working on setting up your Reiki practice, you’re right in the middle of it!

But we thought we’d call it out, since perhaps saying it aloud will help alleviate some of its power. Yes, the single hardest obstacle to starting a Reiki healing practice is the same obstacle to starting almost anything: Fear.

Oh, we understand. Trust us, we understand. You’ve successfully finished your Reiki I or II class, or perhaps you’ve even become a Reiki Master, and the time has come to get out there. So what do you do? Why, start practicing on your friends (still for free, of course), doing your Reiki on yourself, and basically setting up a ton of obstacles and excuses for why you’re just not ready to start ‘yet’.

Maybe you feel you need more experience? Or you’re embarrassed to charge for your Reiki sessions because some people are behind the times and don’t recognize Reiki for the powerful healing tool it is? Or you don’t know where to start, how much to charge, etc.

We’ve been there. And now for the good news. While the single hardest obstacle to starting a healing Reiki practice is feeling that fear and doing it anyway, once you start, you will soon be amazed at how you become comfortable with living alongside the fear. All you need to do is take that first step, and it can be very, very small.

Even a baby step will do

Perhaps you charge your friends $5 per session. Or get business cards made and promise yourself that the next time anyone you meet mentions an ailment that could benefit from the healing Reiki energy, you will give them your card. But you must start.

For one, the more you use your Reiki, the stronger it gets. You will also build your confidence and learn along the way. Do you think successful people never made mistakes? Of course they did. They learned from them, that’s all and modified their actions the next time around so they eventually did succeed.

Michael Bernard Beckwith

Michael Bernard Beckwith, the founder of Agape Spiritual Center in Culver City, CA, spoke the other day about when he first started his spiritual center. It started as a dream, a desire, that became stronger and stronger inside him until he had no choice but to bring it to fruition. Did he resist with every ounce of his being? Of course he did! That was his subconscious going into survival mode and preserving its limiting beliefs at any cost.

He mentioned that he did everything and anything but start his new spiritual center. But eventually he had to. He said, “Was I afraid? Yes!!! But I did it anyway.”

If you bring forth that which is within you, that which is within you will save you. If you do not bring forth that which is  within you, that which is within you will destroy you.

But perhaps the most important reason you  must receive something for your Reiki work is that there must be an exchange in order for the Reiki to transfer!  You must receive something in return for your effort. This is a Universal Law of Nature. If you violate a Universal Law, unfortunately you accrue karma that must be balanced at some point.

You are ready now. Now. Start now. If you were attuned to the Reiki healing energy, have experienced its healing abilities and powers and gone through the healing process yourself, you are ready. You don’t need to wait until you feel confident. Instead, you become confident by practicing and getting out there, learning from your mistakes and making money in the process. You don’t have to have it all figured out. Or anything figured out, really. As Ceelo said in his song, “Crazy”,

Do you really think you’re in control…?

So, now. Start. Now.

Set up your Reiki healing practice, and you just might heal yourself in the process.

Creative ways to use your Reiki pendulum:

1. To figure out the best piece of fruit in the bunch (hold the pendulum over each one until you receive a ‘Yes’
2. Hold your pendulum over each day in a calendar until you receive a ‘Yes’ to figure out the best day to do something
3. Ask your pendulum a series of questions to figure out who you were in past lives and what your most important issues are that you are working on in this lifetime
4. Learn which areas of your home (or body) need extra attention and care

A very Zen-like pendulum

Tip when using your pendulum:

 Some pendulum users like to hold the hand not holding the pendulum one inch below the pendulum, palm facing up. This opens up the Reiki energy in that hand, and creates a biofeedback loop of energy that allows the Reiki and information to flow more easily.

If you can’t feel any Reiki flowing from your open palm, open and close your hand a couple times to activate your hand chakras. (Yes, although we tend to focus on the seven main chakras centers in the body, they are chakras all over! Hands, feet, between the knees, diaphragm, etc. ) Since another name for Reiki energy is ‘hands-on-healing’ after all!

 Also, be sure to clear your Reiki pendulum between questions so it it ready to provide you with the next answer. You can do this by touching the tip of your pendulum to your hand or the table, or also using the Reiki ‘clearing’ symbol or charging it up with the power symbol for a fresh restrart.

And, because we just don’t feel right not adding in a way to use your pendulum during Reiki treatments, here is an additional way to use your Reiki pendulum on clients:

5. Since most pendulums have a pointed tip, there are excellent for really focusing the   energy. Let’s say your client is having earaches. You can hold your Reiki pendulum directly over one of his ear chakra (which we all have, by the way. How else would we hear messages from Spirit and our ancestors?).  Intend for the healing Reiki energy to come through your hands, out the pendulum and into his ear to provide an extremely fine-tuned and direct stream of Reiki energy directly where he needs it most.

Oh pendulum, how did you get to be so wise?

Just in case your questions about using pendulums during your Reiki sessions or treatments wasn’t covered in our previous articles, here are some additional frequently asked questions:

Are pendulums accurate?

Depends. They can be entirely spot-on eerily accurate, or completely inaccurate. This depends not on the pendulum, as it has the potential to deliver the correct answer each and every time, but rather on your mind and emotions and whether you can get them out of the way.  Receiving an accurate answer from your pendulum during Reiki sessions requires you to be completely and fully present in the here and now.

How can I trust that my pendulum is giving me accurate information during Reiki treatments?

The bottom line is this. While you can (and should!) use pendulums in your Reiki sessions for guidance and support, you cannot make a wrong decision with Reiki really. To play Devil’s advocate, let’s say you asked the pendulum if you should move to the client’s head during the Reiki session or stay at her feet. The pendulum says, “Yes”, meaning stay at her feet, when in reality you ‘should’ move to her head.

The Reiki healing energy is no dummy! It will still travel to her head if that’s where she needs it most. So never fear that your Reiki pendulum is giving you the wrong answer. Rather, have fun using your pendulum! You may find that you ask it a question, and before your pendulum answers you already know the answer. Go with your gut, not the pendulum. Maybe your pendulum is testing you to see if you trust your intuition!

Does each pendulum have an ‘owner’, per se?

Well, your pendulum does use your energy and your vibrations to provide you with answers and insight. Therefore, you shouldn’t let other people handle your pendulum, since they might send their vibrations into it and ‘confuse’ it, so to speak. If someone does touch your pendulum, just be sure to use the ‘safe clearing’ symbol if you know it, and then power your Reiki pendulum up again with the Reiki power symbol. Your pendulum should be just fine!

Can pendulums predict the future?

No, not really. Your pendulum is giving you answers for the present moment. Pendulums are not really a tool that can be used in predicting the future. That’s what a skilled psychic is for!

So be grateful for the answers, but remember to be flexible. And luckily, the only moment you should be thinking about is the present one anyway. What else do you have really?  The past has already been determined and anything can happen at any time in the future.

I’m confused. When I use my Reiki pendulum, am I getting messages from Spirit, my Higher Self or my subconscious?

Unfortunately, there is no easy answer to this question. Basically, you are getting information that your subconscious believes to be true. That being said, Spirit and your Higher Self can speak to you through your subconscious.

But if you use your Reiki pendulum in the traditional way of asking it questions, generally the responses you receive will be from your subconscious. It is the dominant force in your emotions, after all!

Now if you want to receive answers from your Higher Self, you can make statements to your pendulum during Reiki sessions such as, “My Higher Self knows _____ to be true.” You can also use the Reiki symbol that calls in your Higher Self if you know it.

Even if you don’t know the symbol, you can invite your Higher Self to be with you while you use the pendulum and during the Reiki treatment by saying something to the effect of, “I invite my Higher Self to be here now.”  All the Reiki Master teachers here call in our Higher Selves before we teach Reiki training classes, give Reiki attunements or give Reiki treatments. We highly recommend you do too!

Your pendulum can be your biggest ally, if you use it correctly.

Before you can understand how to ensure your Reiki pendulum is providing you with accurate information, you’ll need to understand how pendulums work.

How A Pendulum Works

Pendulums work in the same way as kinesiology and muscle testing do; they pick up on what your subconscious believes or Higher Self already knows but you are unaware of in your conscious mind.

Here is a little factoid we at Reiki Training Classes find fascinating: According to Bruce Lipton, a prominent biologist, 95% of your behavior is determined by your subconscious mind.  And ‘subconscious’ by its very definition means you aren’t even aware of it! So basically, we live our lives according to our subconscious beliefs we have picked up from past lives, in the womb, during childhood and every single day.

What the energy from your Reiki pendulum looks like

But we digress. Everything in this world has its own unique vibration, since everything is energy, and all energy vibrates at some frequency.  Pendulums pick up on your subconscious’ vibration, and swing according tho that vibration. Your subconscious sends signals through the neurological pathways of your brain to control your involuntary hand movements that in turn cause the pendulum to move.

You want to remember that your subconscious mind is moving the pendulum, and not Spirit. Although, Spirit and your Higher Self answer your questions through the use of the subconscious.

Your subconscious believes, your Higher Self knows

Your subconscious holds all the beliefs you hold about yourself, others and the world around you. Whatever you have taken in as a ‘truth’ becomes a part of your subconscious mind. Your Higher Self, on the other hand, is not limited by the beliefs you’ve acquired throughout your lifetimes, including the present one. Your Higher Self is connected to infinite wisdom, truth and Universal consciousness.

Use your pendulum to get answers from your Higher Self

You may want to try an experiment where you specifically formulate your statement to include your Higher Self. For example, you can first say to your pendulum, “I am a powerful healer.” Your answer will be determined by what your subconscious mind believes. If you ask your pendulum, “My Higher Self knows me to be a powerful healer,” however, you will almost certainly receive a Yes. This is truth, since, at the very least, we all are powerful healers in that we can heal ourselves!

Be as unattached as possible to the answers your Reiki pendulum gives

Your pendulum will move how you want it to. For example, intend to make your pendulum move in a Yes motion and watch what happens. It will move in a Yes motion! So the best way to get accurate answers and information from your Reiki pendulum is to ask it statements and be open to either answer. We repeat, either answer.

For example, if you really want a ‘Yes’ answer, then why are you asking your pendulum in the first place! Rather, you should ask yourself why you want the answer to be yes. If it is to fulfill an egoic desire, then perhaps you should try to detach from the outcome. If, however, the desire for the ‘Yes’ answer comes from deep within your soul as it is what your heart really and truly wants to do, then follow your heart! You don’t need a pendulum to tell you what you already know. When you follow your heart, you never go wrong. Never.

Well, then how can I know if my Reiki pendulum is accurate?

Detachment is key. After all, it doesn't really matter what happens. What matters is our reaction to what happens.

We knew you would ask that! The key is to stay detached to the answers your Reiki pendulum will provide. Since you are usually not as emotionally invested when practicing Reiki on another person as opposed to yourself, you can often get accurate readings in your Reiki sessions more easily.

Saying statements rather than asking questions also helps ensure the accuracy of your Reiki pendulum. For example, you can say,  “I should send the grounding symbol into my client’s feet during this Reiki session to ground them,” and wait for your Reiki pendulum to give its response. Statements helps your subconscious mind get out of the way and lets your Higher Self answer.

So use statements, and really try to stay detached to the response from your Reiki pendulum by focusing on the words in the statement. The more you practice using your pendulum, both with yourself and in Reiki sessions, the easier you’ll be able to get out of your own way. Good luck!

Pendulums – A gift from Spirit to use in your Reiki treatments

Your Reiki pendulum knows the answers... even if your head doesn't!

What is a pendulum?

Technically, anything can be made into a pendulum. (You could even use your body as a pendulum!) Just make sure that you determine beforehand whether each movement means ‘yes’, ‘no’ or ‘maybe’.

What can a pendulum do?

Essentially, pendulums offer us access to our subconscious, our Higher Selves and the collective unconscious; three types of consciousness most people typically cannot access very easily (or at all).

The reasoning behind using pendulums is to connect with how your subconscious feels as well as what your Higher Self knows. Since your Higher Self already has the trus answers to your questions. As writer Erica Jong so eloquently put:

People seek advice about the answers to questions they already know but wish they didn’t.

Using a pendulum during a Reiki session allows you to receive these answers into your conscious mind.

How to use pendulums in Reiki treatments

A pendulum is an excellent tool to use in a Reiki session or treatment. While we at Reiki training classes encourage you be creative when you use your pendulums in your Reiki treatments, there are three common ways Reiki therapists use them in Reiki sessions:

1. see what is happening in the chakras
2. ask questions about what to do in the Reiki session (i.e. which Reiki symbols to give)
3. set up Reiki treatment times and choose crystals and complementary tools

   A deeper look at using a pendulum in a Reiki treatment

You can use pendulums with Reiki in a couple different ways:

First, when you start your Reiki session, you can use the pendulum over the client’s chakras to gage what is happening in each one. The pendulum should swing in a clockwise circle over the chakra if the chakra is healthy. If the chakra is blocked, deficient in energy or has excessive energy in it, however, the pendulum will do something other than a clockwise circle.

You may want to check the chakras with your Reiki pendulum at the beginning of the Reiki treatment, and also at the end. Seeing the improvements from your Reiki treatments is always nice to see!

Another way to use pendulums with Reiki is to ask the pendulum any questions that arise for you during the session. For example, suppose you are not sure to move to the client’s head and give them the mental clearing symbol, or to stay at the client’s feet and send grounding symbols into each foot chakra. You can ask the pendulum for the answer, and send your Reiki healing energy accordingly.

Let your pendulum do the work and choose the right crystals for your Reiki session.

Why you should try using a pendulum in your Reiki practice

Another benefit to using pendulums in your Reiki treatments is that you come to trust them as time goes on. This may sound simple, but deepening your trust  in your Higher Self, yourself as a powerful healer and Reiki practitioner, and in Spirit can strengthen your practice immensely.

How pendulums can help deepen your connection with the healing Reiki energy

Besides, it is not uncommon for the students in our Reiki classes to have shall we call them ‘crises of faith’, where they start to question the power of Reiki. We have gone through them ourselves, and even though you ‘know’ in your head that the Reiki works –  and even though you turned off the electricity in your entire home when you returned from your first Reiki master attunement ( just to use a random example) – true knowing and believing with all your heart can take a little bit of time.

Dive into the healing Reiki energy

You are learning to work with Universal Life Force energy in a specific way, and using your Reiki pendulum and getting the right answers time after time can help you transfer that knowledge from your head to your heart. Though they don’t seem that far apart at first glance, it can be a quantum jump…

Try a wood pendulum if you're an earthy kind of Reiki practitioner

As we mentioned in the previous article Reiki Sessions with Pendulums, you can use a pendulum during Reiki sessions in various ways, including:

1. You can start off a treatment using the pendulum to gage the health of each chakra
2. You can determine from your pendulum ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ answers to questions such as which Reiki symbols to send the client or where you should position  your hands
3. You can use your pendulums to find the best dates for your Reiki sessions.

Use away! Your pendulum is a tool to help you communicate with your Higher Self.

Preparing your pendulum for ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ answers during a Reiki treatment

If you want your  pendulum to provide you with ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ questions during your Reiki treatments, you first have to know what ‘Yes’ and ‘No’s look like. You can do this by letting the pendulum tell you what a ‘Yes’ looks like and a ‘No’. Sit down at a table with both feet placed on the floor, and rest your elbows on the table. Sit up straight as this helps to ensure that energy can flow freely through you. Relax your body and mind, and let your breath move freely in and out of you.

Hold the pendulum between your thumb and index finger, and ask your new friend what a ‘Yes’ and a ‘No’ look like. You can say, “Tell me what a ‘Yes’ look like”, “a ‘No’” and so forth. You can also say statements you know to be true to your Reiki pendulum, such as “My name is _____.”  Always ask your pendulum aloud.

Determine these movements from your Reiki pendulum

Once you know what ‘Yes’ and ‘No’ look like, ask your pendulum how it lets you know, “Maybe”, “I don’t know” and “Ask later”.

You’ll probably want to draw the answers  your Reiki pendulum gives you on a piece of paper to remember what each one means, at least initially.

Many Reiki masters who are well-versed in pendulums advice that you say statements instead of asking your pendulum questions. We usually leave it up to our Reiki students to decide how they best want to work with their pendulums, but the majority of us here at Reiki Training Classes do use statements. We feel that statements such as “This chakra is balanced.” help make the responses more accurate as it is easier to let go of a desired outcome.

Ask your Reiki pendulum for the answers to your questions

Some schools of thought advise that you hold the pendulum in your left hand, since it is your receiving hand, but if you are a die-hard Righty, we at Reiki Training Classes believe you will be okay as long as you set the intention for the pendulum to work. Some rules are made to be broken, after all!

Besides, are there tried-and-true ‘rules’ anyway when it comes to the healing Reiki energy? We are all for encouraging our students to get creative and form individualized Reiki practices that resonate with them.

You will want to determine your individual pendulum’s ‘Yes’ and ‘No’ response, so practice with it several times before you make your final determination. Once you’ve figured them out, stick with them and test your Reiki pendulum to make sure it works by asking it questions or saying statements you already know the answer to in your conscious mind.

Practicing with your Reiki pendulum

Pendulums that look like this beautiful planet of ours

You only want to program and use your Reiki pendulum and use it when you feel good, however. If you are tired or distracted, you make get inaccurate readings from your pendulum. So ‘Be Here Now’, (as Ram Dass would say,) and make sure you are present when doing pendulum Reiki sessions.

Also, try to keep an open mind to the question you’re asking, and be prepared for either answer. Even if you’re hoping the pendulum will give you a, “Yes”, perhaps the “No” it returns will set forth a chain of events that make you happier or help your client in ways that you couldn’t even imagine.

A Final Tip for using your Reiki pendulum

If you know the Reiki imbuement symbol, imbue your pendulum with the Reiki healing energy. And you can always attune your Reiki pendulum so that it sends Reiki energy during your Reiki treatments as well!

What is Reiki Healing Energy?

Reiki is ‘Universal Life Force Energy’ that comes through a Reiki practitioner attuned to the Reiki energy.  The Reiki healing energy flows from the Universe, through the Reiki practitioner and to the person, situation or object they are sending Reiki to. Everything is energy, and Reiki energy just so happens to be a form of energy that is directed by Spirit to heal.

How does the Reiki energy work?

Essentially, the Reiki energy goes where Spirit directs it to go. This very smart and always beneficial energy heals at a cellular and atomic level. It literally changes things by breaking up stagnant energy, adding in positive energy if needed, and creating space for healing to take place.  We also go into further detail in the article “How Does Reiki Healing Energy Work?”

What is the difference between Reiki healing energy and other types of energywork?

Dr. Usui ‘discovered’ the Reiki energy and put a name to it in Japan in 1904. We put ‘discovered’ in parenthesis because we believe the energy has been around as long as we have.  Probably longer! But we love Dr. Usui for creating a specific modality and allowing people to pass down the ability to send Reiki energy specifically.

Although other forms of energywork are spiritually-directed as well, Reiki healing energy contains a number of symbols that each have their own energy. These symbols can be used for specific purposes, such as to heal karma, to strengthen relationships or to quiet a person’s mind.

What can I use Reiki healing energy for?

How can I use the Reiki healing energy?

People can transmit and send Reiki healing energy once they are attuned to it. An attunement is the process by which a Reiki master passes down the ability to send Reiki energy to a student. Once the Reiki student receives the attunement, he or she can then get to work using the Reiki healing energy.

There are different levels of Reiki. Though each Reiki master has the discretion how they want to organize their classes or attunements, they are generally broken down into Reiki I, Reiki II, and a Reiki Master Level attunement. You can get attuned online or in person.

Can healing Reiki energy create harm?

No. The beautiful Reiki healing energy is always, we repeat always, will only work for the highest good of all concerned. Now, you may not feel that the Reiki is working for your highest good if you cry when receiving it or feel bad, but trust us, it is.  Crying is a release, and the Reiki has allowed you to get that negative energy out of your body, to be replaced with an energy of your choice. So choose a positive one, eh?

What color is associated with Reiki healing energy?

Reiki is often associated with purple energy, which also just so happens to be the color of the Divine and Spirit. Makes sense. We like it, we like it.
